Melbourne Cup

So I've just got back from the Lexus Melbourne Cup. My first trip to the 'race that stop a nation' which has long been on my bucket list.

The event absolutely lived up to its lofty reputation and this year's race couldn't have been anymore dramatic what with places being altered due to interference. It was great to see an Australian horse (plus Aussie jockey, trainer, owners and breeders!) win and keep The Cup on home soil (first time for a few years!) as it made for more of a buzz on race day with the parties really kicking off!

I was presenting the international two hour show around the race which was broadcast to 750 million people...no pressure then and I hope we managed to encapsulate the excitement and tension at Flemington.

Here are a few pics from the day...

On Thursday I attended Oaks day at Flemington, again working for VRC. The absolute highlight of the day was interviewing Usain Bolt in the Mumm hospitality area. He is a regular in Melbourne and loves his racing.
